THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our contest, and thank you for helping me celebrate turning 40!!
So many great photos were submitted to our contest - with different perspectives, efforts, and strengths. After tallying and processing friends and family votes from weekend birthday parties I was left with picking one grand prize winner (a task much more difficult that choosing a top three, or even allowing for a runner-up) >> This young lady's photo jumps out at you and plants itself into your heart. Her joy and personality are infectious and unbridled which ultimately creates a photo with spirit that is unmatched. This photo offered-up something I hadn't expected to find in this contest .... a spirit of life that is not often capture-able in photographs. Hope, joy, and exuberance without reigns. Let's nurture our young girls so they don't lose this in adolescence or young adulthood or in their twenties or thirties ... so that it isn't a revelation to find it again in your forties. 》THANK YOU for participating in this contest. WOW. When I dreamed-up this #mysilvercocoon contest, I wasn't sure what to expect. Would there even be forty people who would play along?? YES!! So many of you contributed so many wonderful photos that you made the job of selecting 40 individual winners quite difficult. My friends voted for their favorites at my birthday party on Friday night. My family voted for their favorites - as well as participated in a special "grand prize focused round" of voting on Saturday night, and a reflective deliberation on my birthday on Sunday. I have spent much of today processing all of this into the final final selections that you see here. >> THANK YOU to each and every one of you for participating, for being such loving and loyal supporters and for helping to celebrate this milestone in my life. You sure have made this girl feel special. I hope to be able to ship prizes out later this week. (Grand Prize Winner will be announced momentarily) Thank you!!
